The pupils of Year 6 travelled to Cae`r Gors, Rhosgadfan
(the author - Kate Roberts` home) to study quarry life in Victorian times.
Pupils of the Reception Class also visited Cae`r Gors and participated in different activities – using their senses.
Anti Joy visited the school to talk about `Anno`s Africa`
a charity which was started by Anno`s parents following his death in a car crash in 2001, before his 21st birthday.
The pupils of Years 4 and 5 would like to organise and collect money towards this charity.
Operation Christmas Childs shoe boxes will be collected from the school on Thursday 18th of November.
Congratulations to two members of the School Council from Years 4 and 5 , they were successful in getting a grant of £130 from `Cronfa Grant Wythnos Ni 2010`. We will be spending the money to buy resources for the school.
We are very proud of all the pupils as we have won `The Gold Award` in the Gwynedd and Anglesey Scheme for Green Schools 2009-2010.
All the pupils took part in our sponsored walk. We would like to thank everybody who sponsored the children, we hope to raise £1,000.
Congratulations to Jac Jones (while in Mrs Howel`s class)
He came second in designing a t-shirt logo for `Land`s End` catalogue. He won £1,000 for the school and £150 towards a family holiday.
11 of the pupils attend the `Seren Wib` theatrical club which is held at Ysgol Botwnnog every Wednesday evening.
Our Auction of Promises will be held at Nanhoron Hotel on Friday November 19th at 7:30 – free admission. We would be very grateful of any contributions. Please come and join us.

Once again friends came to work with us at Ysgol Nefyn. All the pupils had an opportunity to work with Anti Gwenllian when she visited to discuss the importance of recycling. Meurig Williams a member of the Police Force also visited the school to discuss the dangers of drugs.
Pupils of Years 3,4,5 and 6 enjoyed the Rugby and Hockey Tournaments which were organised at Bodegroes Club, Efailnewydd. Congratulations to the pupils who were members of the winning team.
By now the Family Literacy Plan meetings which were held at the school on Monday mornings have finished. The parents and children enjoyed different activities which included – a visit to the Archives at Caernarfon, Plas Glyn y Weddw, Nefyn Library and a trip to Beddgelert. Members of the Red Cross Society and members of the Police Force attended the meetings to discuss their work with the parents. There is a warm welcome to parents who wish to attend the meetings which will be re-starting after the Easter holidays (more information to follow).
The pupils of Year 6 have benefited from having two biking lessons under the supervision of Adam Hall.
Year 5 pupils had a fantastic time when they visited Cae`r Graig Farm at Efailnewydd recently. They had an opportunity to learn about old farm equipment, sheep and cattle rearing and traditional field names.
Congratultions to the pupils who took part in the Swimming Gala at Pwllheli. We are very proud as we came second in the competition.
The pupils of Years 5 and 6 visited `Coleg Bala` as part of their religious studies. we would like to thamk the staff of the college for a very informative day when the pupils were given the opportunity to act and take part in practical activities.
26 Year 6 pupils have spent a day at Ysgol Uwchradd Botwnnog and 2 pupils have also visited Ysgol Glan Y Môr.
£100 was collected by the Parents` Association when a Coffee Afternoon and concert (items from the Urdd Eisteddfod) was held at Nanhoron Hotel. We would like to thank Linda, the owner for allowing us to use the hotel free of charge and also for preparing refreshments for the pupils who participated.
The pupils dressed as book characters on `Book Day`.
Once again we would like to thank the Bingo Girls for collecting £100 towards the school.
